| Waterlooville is situated on the
old Portsmouth to London road (A3) about 4 miles north
east of the city. It along with Cowplain did not exist
before 1815, although both Purbrook and Horndean did. A
village called Stakes existed by the 13th century. Things
changed eventually after the coming of the turnpike road
between Horndean and Cosham in 1711, but not for a
hundred years. The area as a whole now has a poulation of
about 20,000. (See 'A Brief History' for more). Here are links and content for places around and about Waterlooville. This site will be added to, particularily this page, as time allows so please come back and visit again.
