A prize of a meal for two was promised to the group who collected most,
as was announced from the table placed by the mill facing the pond,
map flapping in the oncoming wind.
The widest gap in the line appeared from the corner of the carpark,
across the quay, and around to the first bend in the promenade.
Other ends just feet away from each other encouraged more giving.
Some streaching was noticed.
